Mission Statement
This intensive bootcamp provides participants with the knowledge to become certified as Avaloq Certified Customization Professionals with a focus on ABRS.
This course blends a condensed delivery format with guided independent learning to equip students with a broad conceptual and practical foundation in Avaloq Core Platform customization and the ABR/S development and customization techniques. They will have awareness of and apply best practice methods, bank-specific customization and contributions, enabling them to develop good quality code which passes the rigorous ABR/S audit and consistency tests.
Course description
The highly customizable and flexible Avaloq Banking Suite can be tailored to meet the needs of any banking client. Traditionally, this involved customizing based on a model database, but more recently this has been superseded by the Avaloq Banking Reference/Starter Kit, or ABR/S, which supports On-premises, SaaS or BPaaS customers.
The aim of the course is to develop a fundamental understanding of the possibilities for customizing the Avaloq Core Platform to address client-specific requirements. It also highlights why bootstrapping is such an important characteristic. The course teaches strict coding standards, principles and practices by guiding participants through a real-world support ticket and implements a solution to support the different customer types.
The course also examines how ABR/S uses spreadsheets to configure security and rules.
Participants engage in hands-on training and practical exercises, supported by an extensive library of video content for additional self‑study. Through business‑driven use cases, they gain insight into how banking processes are represented and implemented within the Avaloq Core Platform.
The course prepares participants for a certification exam and a coding exam, which when passed award the “Avaloq Certified Customization Professional (Major in ABRS)” certification. This international certificate attests to substantial knowledge of the Avaloq Core Platform.

On successful completion of this course, each participant will have the basic know-how needed to work productively in an Avaloq project including a demonstrable understanding of the following:
Understanding/experience of IT-related topics such as database concepts, programming logic, SQL / PL/SQL is extremely helpful. Basic knowledge of banking is also helpful.
Participants must be able to read and understand documentation written in English.
We strongly recommend that participants have a minimum of two screens available during the course as they need to be able to view the instructor screen (full HD), a workbook plus their own course development environment (full HD recommended) simultaneously.
