Description

Mission statement
Learn how to implement the GDPR right to erasure in the ACP using Automated Personal Data Management (APDM).

Course description
This course focuses exclusively on the GDPR right to erasure (right to be forgotten) and explains how this legal requirement is technically implemented in the Avaloq Core Platform using the Automated Personal Data Management (APDM) add-on module.

You will learn how APDM identifies personal data eligible for erasure, calculates object and order dependencies, and processes data hiding and wiping using either a one-step or two-step approach with a grace period. The course explains the full lifecycle of a wipe process, from triggering object selection through dependency calculation, validation checks, wipe execution, and reporting.

The content concentrates on both design-time configuration and runtime execution of APDM. It demonstrates how wipe structures are built, how preconditions, cross-checks, and postconditions ensure data consistency, and how access security is applied to hidden and wiped data. You will also learn how APDM can be customized using code tables and Avaloq Script to reflect client-specific data models and business rules.

This is a self-study course supported by structured explanations, examples, and guided exercises. It prepares you to analyze, configure, and operate APDM for GDPR erasure use cases.

Objectives

On successful completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • describe the purpose and scope of APDM in the context of the GDPR right to erasure;
  • explain how triggering objects, object dependencies, and wipe structures are calculated and managed;
  • distinguish between one-step and two-step wiping processes and explain when to use each;
  • describe the role of precondition checks, cross-checks, and postcondition checks in safeguarding data integrity;
  • explain how access security is applied to hidden and wiped objects and orders;
  • describe the main customization options for APDM using code tables and Avaloq Script.

Requirements

Participants must be ACCP certified or have equivalent knowledge of the Avaloq Core Platform, including object models, orders, code tables, and basic Avaloq Script concepts.

This course is intended for customization specialists, technical analysts, and developers involved in configuring or operating GDPR erasure processes. Only Avaloq Certified Customisation Professionals are eligible for accreditation points.
